There is a massive arms deal, approved earlier this month, that includes the US providing precision-guided missiles to Israel. I think this arms deal has to be cancelled immediately. The US should not be supporting Israel’s far-right government at all any more, after the reckless, bigoted way PM Netanyahu started this new war and slaughtered civilians in Gaza. This has to stop. As an American taxpayer I want nothing to do with Israel killing Palestinians or anyone else, so why should I fund their weaponry? Israel has become an apartheid state, and have been that for a long time. Jimmy Carter even wrote a book about it.
The worst part of this, after all the civilian deaths, is how Israel is purposely bombing roads and the infrastructure that citizens in Gaza would need to use to get to the hospital and get treatment so they don’t die from these Israeli bombs.
Because of the biased and terrible media coverage this war is going to be hard to stop. So many people are salivating over potential political benefits from the violence that it will be hard to end. The terrible media coverage includes US media pretending that losing the AP building was so much worse than losing all the civilians and children dying every day. No, media, the worst thing is all the people dying. The terrible media coverage also includes the common knee-jerk American reaction that Israel deserves to defend itself, and by implication, Palestinians do not have that right. It’s nauseating. Just as nauseating is this idea that Israel is an ally to the US. They do impressive spying and snooping on other countries and groups, but I don’t trust Israeli intelligence. Most of it is so politicized it’s polluted. And Israel itself has become such a racist state I want nothing to do with defending it.

Why don’t we hear that Palestinians deserve to defend themselves? That they deserve to live in peace? That the Israeli occupation of Gaza should end? That seizing Palestinian homes and land is wrong and illegal? That Israel needs to stop killing people for political reasons?
Today Israel’s government said there were still “thousands” of Hamas targets (aka people) to bomb and that they had no intention of stopping. The Israeli bombing needs to end!
