Congratulations to VP Kamala Harris, the next President of the United States!

President Joe Biden has finally, FINALLY stepped aside, and I’m not going to sing his praises here. Others are constantly doing that better than I could, and that’s fine. Thank you, Joe Biden, for saving us from Donald Trump.  I don’t think he was the best president ever, but he was good enough on most things and said the right things most of the time. I think he really messed up foreign policy in Ukraine and Gaza but that’s not the issue of today. Biden finally did the right thing in dropping out of the race, after weeks of pressure, and has endorsed Kamala Harris for president. I think Harris should be the nominee of the Democratic Party, and I believe she will win the election. She’s a prosecutor and a former DA and that is exactly what we need to run against the rapist and insane fascist that is Donald Trump.

I wholeheartedly endorse Kamala Harris for president and I hope everyone reading this will endorse her and support her. I have wanted and hoped for a woman president my entire life and yes it matters. Representation always matters. I’ve always supported Kamala Harris, since 2020. I did not want to have to vote for Joe Biden and I did so only because the entire party had coalesced around him and thought he could beat Trump, which turned out to be true. He won that election, despite Trump’s constant lies about it. Biden won fair and square. However, Biden wasn’t my first choice. After Harris dropped out, I very strongly backed Elizabeth Warren. Somehow that didn’t work out either. (She was the strongest candidate, in my mind, but came up against a wall of sexism that will finally be defeated by Harris.)

Eventually Joe Biden got the nomination in 2020 and he did win. We were grateful. But he didn’t fix the Supreme Court, he didn’t do much for black people or for women, and he didn’t do as much as he should have and could have on climate change. He messed up Gaza by backing Israel’s genocide and declaring himself a Zionist. He messed up Ukraine by not giving them the weapons they needed when they needed them. This led to the stalemate there we have today. What a mess.

I hope Harris and whoever she chooses for VP will fix these things. I know Harris will do more for women’s rights than Biden did. And yes it matters a lot – to a whole half of this country, maybe more. I know men think everything is about them, but they are wrong! Women’s rights matter more than almost anything else to me in these United States, right now, since those rights are eroding fast. If Harris is the candidate, I’m going to fight like hell for her because she will fight for me, and for all other women. She will get our rights back that have been destroyed by Republicans, and she will fight for the ERA and full parity with men in all areas. She will also fight for all civil rights and voting rights. Harris will be a phenomenal president.

Also on my hope list is that Nancy Pelosi, Jeffries, and the other leaders of the Democratic Party don’t allow this to slip away from Harris. She deserves the nomination. She will win. Donate to her campaign. This is straight from Joe Biden.

And STOP talking about Gavin Newsom and Gretchen Whitmer. I don’t give a damn about either one of them. My choices for VP, not that it really matters much, are Josh Shapiro, Pete Buttigieg, or Andy Beshear. I think Pete would be my first choice. She will probably choose that old guy from NC, which would be a mistake. (He does not radiate “new blood”.) But whoever she chooses, it’s HER choice, and it will be fine.
