After WWII it made sense that Israel would be favored by the West, who after all helped them establish their country, even if it meant taking Palestinian land, (without approval from Palestinians, something which continues to this day) to form the official home of the Jewish people. But why now, in 2023, with all that has taken place in Gaza, the West Bank, and in Israel, why do we still favor Israel so much over the Palestinian people, who have been occupied and under siege for decades? If you criticism Israel, or their far-right-wing government, or their land grabs and home destructions in the West Bank, and the frequent bombings and siege and blockage of the Gaza Strip, you will certainly be labeled “antisemitic”. The consensus in the US seems to be that no bad words or criticism can be leveled at an entire country that blatantly treats Palestinians as sub-human. Yet the US continues its favoritism towards Israel. Why is that?
When the brutal Hamas terror attack occurred on 10/7/23 and over 1,400 Israelis were killed (which we of course condemn) the world was shocked and horrified. But just as shocking and horrifying has been the Israeli response. Over 7,500 civilians in Gaza have now been slaughtered by the IDF, including about 3,000 Palestinian children. This is no longer “defense” (and never really has been) but it has turned into something else, something very evil and anti-humane. War crimes are being committed. The UN General Assembly has passed a resolution called for an immediately ceasefire, humanitarian corridors, something concrete that can save lives in Gaza. The world watches as the US joins hands with Israel and let’s everyone know that Israel can do whatever it wants. War crimes be damned.

This young woman above, a Gaza citizen, is currently staying in the US. Her parents and family are currently trapped in Gaza. Hear her frustration with how the media and many politicians here in the US treat Palestinians, as not deserving of a normal life, as opposed to how they treat Israelis, as the “chosen ones”. Which is just a lot of bullshit. There are no “chosen ones”. And Hamas is not the Palestinians, and Palestinians are not Hamas, as much as MAGA types want you to think they are. When did Republican Party members get to be such fans of apartheid and genocide?
